SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM
Medley Music Academy’s Special Needs Program is a weekly program open to all special needs persons to learn and have fun playing and making music together as a group. We aim to provide an inclusive and socially conducive place for students to make new friends and more importantly to create music together by utilizing a digital device like the iPad or acoustic and percussion instruments like the xylophone and castanet, and even the keyboard. Our special needs musicians will learn to play a repertoire of music ranging from well-known classical symphonies to present-day pop songs.
The goal is for students to enjoy making music together, socialize and eventually to perform alongside professional musicians/ensemble at public performances.
Medley Music School's Applied Behaviour through Music programme is an inclusive group for parents and children of all (dis)abilities 12 years and younger. You and your child will participate in a variety of music experiences that will foster a sense of togetherness. Through active music engagement, your child will gain mastery over their bodies, develop their language and communication skills, and enhance social-emotional learning.
This group is facilitated by a music therapist who is trained to use music to address communication, interpersonal skills, motor, and cognitive development.
